Maghfouri Moghaddam et al. (2022) studied two stratigraphic sections from the Paleocene–Eocene deposits of the Chenareh anticline (Zagros region, SW Iran). According to the biostratigraphic ranges of planktonic and larger benthic foraminifera, the authors suggested planktonic foraminiferal biozones P2 to P5 (Late Danian to Early Ypresian) and shallow benthic zones (SBZ) 6–8 (Early Ypresian) for the studied sections. A detailed review of the larger foraminifera identified reveal incorrect taxonomic determinations, resulting in invalid SBZ age assignments
